My previous post had shown how you can jailbreak your iPhone 3G firmware 3.0 using redsn0w 0.8. If you’re using iPhone 2G, you’ll need to download firmware 3.0 ipsw for iPhone 2G. Then, follow the guide to jailbreak your iPhone as the steps are similar. If your iPhone was unlocked previously with BootNeuter, then you don’t have to check the unlock option. After jailbreak, just insert your sim card into the iPhone and you’ll see the network carrier signal on your iPhone.

P/S: For iPhone 2G firmware 3.1 or 3.1.2, you can jailbreak your iPhone 2G using blackra1n.
