iTunes Gives you Error Code 1600

Why am I getting this iTunes error code 1600 every time I’m trying to restore or update my iPhone? The possibilities that iTunes will prompt you “The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600)” are restoring your iPhone with the custom firmware and the iTunes installed is not the latest version.

The custom firmware created using pwnagetool can be only restored or updated to jailbroken or pwned iPhone. You can restore your pwned iPhone without putting into DFU or recovery mode through iTunes and make sure it has the latest version installed.

Instead of jailbreak your non-pwned iPhone 3.1/3.1.2 by restoring the custom firmware, you can jailbreak using blackra1n, which supports all iPhone generations up to firmware 3.1.2 and does not require any iPhone restore through iTunes.
